The following guidance and resources will help you prepare to submit your digital assignment. 

Once you have registered to submit your assignment, to give yourself the greatest chance of success, it is important that you adequately prepare. We recommend that you:

  • Revise to ensure you thoroughly understand and can apply your learning.
  • Read through the resources provided on this page.
  • Set aside adequate time to prepare and check your assignment before the submission period closes.
  • Monitor the email registered against your learner record, as we will send your login details for the online assessment platform to this email a few days before the submission period opens.
  • Familiarise yourself with the NEBOSH online assessment platform.

Important information

  • If you have accessed the NEBOSH online assessment platform previously, your login details will remain the same. If you have forgotten your password, visit the online assessment platform, select 'Forgotten your username or password?’ and use your username (your learner number) to request a password reset email. 
  • Your assignment submission must be in PDF file format. From September 2023 onwards, any submissions which are not in a PDF file format will be declined and will not be marked.

Unit DNI Learner Guidance

Unit DNI is a combined Unit for both the National Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety and the International Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety.

The assignment gives Learners the opportunity to demonstrate the knowledge and understanding gained from their studies of Units A/IA, B/IB and C/IC of the National/International Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety syllabus in a vocational setting.

The aim of the assignment is for learners to carry out a review of the arrangements for managing health and safety in a workplace and to produce justified, proportionate recommendations to improve health and safety performance.
