As with many qualifications, NEBOSH certificates are considered valuable and there are professional organisations that will take advantage of this by selling NEBOSH certificates to individuals who have not completed the required training or assessments.
But there are steps you can take to keep your information safe and help make it harder others to create fraudulent documents.
Learners
By keeping your information secure and up to date, you can help to protect your qualification from fraudulent activity.
- Do not share scanned copies or photographs of your certificates online.
- Download our guide for more information on keeping your qualification(s) safe: NEBOSH online verification service: Guide for learners.
- If the QR code on your certificate is used to complete a verification, you will be contacted by email to approve the request. To update the email address on your learner record, please use our online form: Change of Details Request.
- If your certificate is lost or stolen, this should be reported to NEBOSH: Report a lost/stolen certificate.
- Report fraudulent certificate/activity to NEBOSH.
Employers
By verifying the qualifications of prospective employees, you can help identify and remove fraudulent certificates from circulation and deter candidates from using false information. You will also be confirming that employees hold the qualifications and skills you are asking for.
