NEBOSH and HSE to showcase joint qualifications at Safety and Health Expo

Thursday, 19 April 2018

NEBOSH and the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) have joined forces to develop a range of brand new qualifications. These qualifications will be showcased at Safety and Health Expo from 19-21 June at ExCEL London where both organisations have recently been announced as show partners.

NEBOSH Chief Executive Teresa Budworth, said: “Collaborating with the HSE allows us to combine our ability to deliver strong, credible vocational occupational safety and health qualifications with HSE’s industry-leading knowledge and expertise.”

The exhibition will see the launch of the brand new NEBOSH HSE Certificate in Health and Safety Leadership Excellence. This new one day course is aimed at senior or aspiring leaders who want to ensure they effectively fulfil their health and safety responsibilities.  The qualification is based on the application of the HSE’s health and safety leadership values and students will learn how to apply them in the workplace.

As part of the Expo, representatives from NEBOSH and HSE will also be leading an interactive session on ‘Achieving H&S Leadership Excellence in the Workplace’. Research undertaken by the HSE has identified key competencies and behaviours that are associated with health and safety leadership excellence. The session will highlight what these competencies are and will allow attendees to put questions to HSE's human and organisational performance experts.

The new leadership qualification follows on from the success of the NEBOSH HSE Certificate in Process Safety Management which was launched at the end of 2017. Designed for high hazard industries where process safety management is critically important, it applies principles and best practice to manage process risks, helping to protect people and valuable assets.

Teresa Budworth continued: “The pilot of the Process Safety Management qualification attracted delegates from global organisations operating in oil and gas, chemicals, utilities and manufacturing industries. We are delighted that 94% of those who took part would recommend the qualification to a colleague and their employer.”

Find out more about both qualifications at the show by visiting NEBOSH on stand P150 or HSE on stand Q375.
