In 2024, Larsen & Toubro, an Indian multinational organisation, celebrates its tenth anniversary of delivering NEBOSH qualifications.
Larsen & Toubro runs a state-of-the-art Leadership Development Academy in Lonavla, India and its in-house team has delivered over 6.9 million hours of safety training to the 50,000-strong workforce.
Since becoming accredited as a Corporate Learning Partner in 2014, Larsen & Toubro has delivered the NEBOSH International General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety to more than 700 employees. More recently, it has also started to deliver the NEBOSH HSE Introduction to Incident Investigation qualification as part of its ‘Mission Zero Harm’ commitment.
A Larsen & Toubro representative says: “The L&T-ites – as our employees are affectionately known – in the Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) function, were chosen to take part initially. We wanted to give them the skills and confidence they needed to make a difference so they could foster the safety culture we were striving for. Simultaneously, the initiative played a crucial role in developing competencies and improving our safety culture, which in turn contributed to Larsen & Toubro’s ability to secure international business. The NEBOSH International General Certificate has featured in our training plans ever since.”
Steve McLaughlin, NEBOSH Chief Commercial Officer, adds: “Larsen & Toubro is held in high esteem in India and across the world, so I am delighted that they chose NEBOSH qualifications to upskill employees and support their mission of zero harm. I’d like to congratulate them on the tenth anniversary of being an accredited Learning Partner, and look forward to continuing our partnership in health and safety education for many years to come.”
