The recipients of the third ‘NEBOSH - L’Oréal International Bursary: Enabling women in health and safety’ have been revealed.
Global beauty brand L’Oréal partnered with health and safety organisation, NEBOSH, to offer a bursary which enables women to pursue a career in occupational health and safety. Again, offering ten women, based internationally, paid-for study and assessment fees for the NEBOSH International General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety.
The NEBOSH - L’Oréal International Bursary attracted over 1000 applications from women around the world who want to develop their learning, careers and positively influence workplace health and safety.
The judges were drawn to the applicants because of their genuine, emotive stories and their eagerness to help protect the lives of their colleagues and those around them. The ten winners represent countries from India, Nigeria, South Africa, Indonesia, Croatia and Zimbabwe. They are:
• Keerthana Mathuravanan
• Cynthia Uloma
• Mathapelo Phetwe

One of the winners, Ina Hranilovic said: “Getting the NEBOSH International General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety is something I started thinking about in the middle of the lockdown in 2020. But in the end, I decided it wasn't a good time to start with something like that. Today, I couldn't be more thrilled with how things turned out because not only did I get the chance to learn about something I really care about, but I also got to do it as a part of a project dedicated to women and created for them. Thank you so much once again for this great opportunity.”
Malcolm Staves, Global Vice President of Health & Safety, said, “It is a real pleasure to continue our partnership with NEBOSH to promote and help women working in health and safety realise their potential within this area. By offering them the opportunity to obtain a NEBOSH International General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety we are giving them a boost to their career and creating our future leaders #bethehummingbird”
