Friday, 6 November 2015
NEBOSH has become a full member of INSHPO, the International Network of Safety & Health Practitioner Organisations.
INSHPO aims to be the global voice for the occupational safety and health profession and acts as a forum for international collaboration among professional organisations to improve safety and health at work. Full membership gives NEBOSH voting rights, which will allow greater participation in INSHPO's work.
NEBOSH is contributing to a global competency framework for the occupational safety and health profession which INSHPO is currently developing. It is hoped that it will be published by the end of 2014. In addition, INSHPO have recently published a literature review, which summarises current research covering the value of the safety professional.
Vince McNeilly, INSHPO president, said: “NEBOSH has and continues to play an integral part in the evolution and development of processes and frameworks to enhance the value of the OSH practitioner in the world of work. As we at INSHPO are dedicated to a global alliance in advancing the profession we are pleased to welcome NEBOSH, as a full member, to the alliance. On behalf of the Executive Committee we look forward to continuing our work, with NEBOSH, and furthering the value proposition of the OSH practitioner."
NEBOSH Chief Executive Teresa Budworth commented: "INSHPO has a strong influence on the international health and safety community. Within this community we have a vital part to play. Our vocational qualifications are recognised in countries throughout the world and our recent Queen Award for outstanding achievement in international trade demonstrates our increasing global reach."
We are delighted to have become a full member of INSHPO as part of our ongoing international development.
