NEBOSH and the International Institute of Risk and Safety Management (IIRSM) have signed a new memorandum of understanding (MoU) to work together to enhance occupational health and safety in the workplace.
The two organisations aim to work closely to identify opportunities to promote awareness of both organisations with the ultimate aim of enhancing occupational health and safety in the workplace.
The MoU also aims to give individuals who obtain a NEBOSH qualification an opportunity to enhance their development, including recognition by a professional body. IIRSM and NEBOSH will also work together to maximise benefits from mutual interests considering the principles of equality and reciprocal benefits.
The MoU was signed by NEBOSH Chief Executive Andy Shenstone and IIRSM Co-President Rosie Russell (pictured) at the recent IIRSM Presidents' Reception in London.
Andy Shenstone said: “Risk management is a cornerstone of the HSE profession. Our working relationship with IIRSM goes back many years and I am pleased to sign this MoU, reaffirming our commitment to continued collaboration, and enhancing the learning opportunities for our community.”
IIRSM Chief Executive Phillip Pearson added: “I’m delighted that we’ve been able to sign our new MoU with NEBOSH. Built on the back of years of successful collaboration, including our more recent NEBOSH IIRSM Certificate in Managing Risk, we feel that this new agreement will help solidify our global membership and build our collaboration efforts with the wider risk community.”
