NEBOSH to chair Charities Safety Group Annual Conference
Thursday, 15 August 2019
NEBOSH is delighted to continue its partnership with The Charities Safety Group by chairing its Fire Safety Conference this October.
The one-day ‘Fire: From Prevention to Business Continuity’ event offers a packed agenda that covers building fire safety, business continuity / disaster planning, legal perspectives, fire risk assessment in charity premises and insurance. There is a case study talk from The National Trust about fire safety in historic buildings, including reference to the Clandon Park House fire in 2015.
NEBOSH has supported the Charities Safety Group for over a decade to offer UK charities and voluntary sector organisations access to the NEBOSH National General Certificate. We are looking to extend this agreement to other qualifications.
Matt Powell Howard, NEBOSH Head of Strategy, is delighted to chair this year’s event. He said: “The Charities Safety Group carries out fantastic work. Charities get involved in a diverse range of activities and are often supported by a network of passionate volunteers. It’s critical for these volunteers, charity staff and the public that health and safety is managed effectively. I am delighted to chair this year’s event and to carry on supporting the Charities Safety Group.”
Claire Guise, Health and Safety Manager at Marie Curie says “I am really proud to be both a member of the CSG committee and the NEBOSH Alumni as both are organisations promoting improvements in health and safety management and competency. The fire safety conference is another great example of these two organisations joining forces to continue this great work”
This year’s event will take place on Wednesday 9 October 2019 at Baden-Powell House, 65-67 Queen’s Gate, Kensington, London, SW7 5JS.
