Twenty health and safety scholarships available for NEBOSH Diploma
Tuesday, 21 May 2024
Applications are open for the 2024 Michael Adamson NEBOSH Diploma Scholarship, which will award study opportunities to twenty recipients this year.
This programme for the health and safety industry is designed to help aspiring professionals develop the skills they need to succeed in the workplace, advance their careers and, most importantly, keep people safe from harm.
Seven National (UK) and thirteen International learners will be awarded paid-for online study for the NEBOSH Level 6 National or International Diploma for Occupational Health and Safety Management Professionals.
The Scholarship is named in memory of Michael Adamson who lost his life in a preventable workplace incident. His sister Louise is a member of the selection panel and says: "It means the world knowing my brother's name and memory lives on through these scholarships, and the remarkable people who apply for them, as they day-in and day-out strive to keep their colleagues and communities safe and healthy. Be they stories of heartache to healing, of commitment and care, or of overcoming adversity, each person who applies displays a desire to know more so they can do more to improve working conditions for others. Reading the applications is a source of inspiration to me, and I look forward to this fourth year of being inspired all over again."
Logan Holmes, a 2023 scholarship recipient, adds: “To hit the nail on the head, it has been extremely challenging but equally rewarding. My studies so far have been extremely in-depth and insightful by taking a deeper dive into the role of a health and safety professional.
“This prestigious qualification is a remarkable milestone in any health and safety professionals career, so give it a go. Everyone has a unique story and an empowering reason to work in this sector where we truly get to make a difference in people's lives!”
