NEBOSH Health and Safety Management for Construction (International) is focussed on the industry best practice outlined in the ILO guidance. With an emphasis on practical application, successful learners will be able to:

The NEBOSH Health and Safety Management for Construction (International) can only be studied and assessed in English. 

Length of course

NEBOSH Health and Safety Management for Construction (International) will involve a minimum of 68 taught hours and approximately 40 hours of private study and background reading to prepare for the 48 hour open book examination.

Assessment

We've developed a practical assessment for this practical role.

This is a digital assessment based on a realistic scenario, that will test both what you know and what you can do. You will be asked to carry out a series of tasks using evidence from the scenario and the underpinning knowledge gained through your studies and revision. You will have 48 hours to download, complete and submit your assessment.

Your assessment will be marked by an external examiner appointed by NEBOSH. These examiners are chosen for their experience and expertise to ensure that learners are assessed by the very best from our industry.


Entry Requirements

There are no entry requirements for this qualification.

It is important that learners have a suitable standard of English language in order to understand and articulate the concepts contained in the syllabus. NEBOSH recommends that learners undertaking this qualification should reach a minimum standard of English equivalent to an International English Language Testing System (IELTS) score of 6.0 or higher in IELTS tests.

Important note: NEBOSH Health and Safety Management for Construction (International) is a standalone qualification. This means that you will not be able to use units from other NEBOSH qualifications against any part of this qualification.

Professional recognition and SQA accreditation

Professional body recognition

Holders of the NEBOSH Health and Safety Management for Construction (UK and International) are entitled to associate Membership (AIIRSM) of the International Institute of Risk and Safety Management (IIRSM).

SQA accreditation

In line with changes being made to Health and Safety Management in Construction (UK), this qualification is being updated to a Level 7 qualification from 2023. Please speak to your Learning Partner to confirm if this affects your studies. Our recent news item provides more information on changes to the UK version of the qualification; UK NEBOSH construction qualification secures CSCS recognition.

  • The syllabus studied by learners taking their assessment up to and including 17 January 2023, sits in the Scottish Credit and Qualifications Framework (SCQF) at SCQF Level 6 with 12 SCQF credit points.
    SCQF Level 6 is comparable to RQF/CQFW Level 3 in England, Wales and Northern Ireland. 
  • The syllabus studied by learners who complete their assessment on or after 7 March 2023, sits in the Scottish Credit and Qualifications Framework (SCQF) at SCQF Level 7 with 12 SCQF credit points.
    SCQF Level 7 is comparable to RQF/CQFW Level 4 in England, Wales and Northern Ireland.

Existing Learners

Don't forget, your Learning Partner will be able to answer any questions about the qualification, register you for the relevant assessments, and will be a key point of contact throughout your studies. 

This is a replacement qualification for the NEBOSH International Certificate in Construction Health and Safety which has now been withdrawn. If you did not complete your assessments on the previous version of the qualification, please contact your Learning Partner for further support.

CI1 - For the CI1 digital assessment learners will have 48 hours to access, complete and submit their paper starting at 11am (UK time) on the examination date.

Registration for your examination

Once your Learning Partner has registered you to an examination, NEBOSH will send you a Confirmation of Registration email that includes your learner number, and important information relating to your examination. Please ensure that you check your name is spelt correctly and let your Learning Partner and NEBOSH know if any changes are required. If you have not received this email please remember to check your spam folders.

Login details 

Following receipt of your Confirmation of Registration email, NEBOSH will send you a further email containing your Username and Password for the NEBOSH online examination platform. If you have not received this email please remember to check your spam folders.

If you have previously sat an online examination with NEBOSH, you will not receive new a new login. You will be able to access the online examination platform using your previous login details. 

Examination results

All results for assessments taken in English should be received within 50 working days from the date of the examination. The specific date is written on your examination entry confirmation.
